
Dag Herbjørnsrud, born in 1971, is an author and global historian of ideas. He is a former political reporter, a former columnist for the website of Al-Jazeera English, and a former editor-in-chief of an international, weekly magazine in Norway. For the last couple of years, he has dedicated his work to bringing forward less-known stories from world history by founding the cooperative Center for Global and Comparative History of Ideas (SGOKI). His latest book “Global Knowledge. Renaissance for a new Enlightenment” (transl., original: Globalkunnskap) explores the world’s cross-cultural interconnectedness. Herbjørnsrud is a writer for Aeon.co, where he has written about the women philosophers of Asia, Africa, and Latin America between 700 BCE to 1800 AD.
