Antonia Beermann

Antonia Beermann was born in 1984 and studied theatre dramaturgy in Munich and Stockholm. Since 2012, she has worked as a free-lance dramaturg and director in Stuttgart, Munich and Zurich; between 2015 and 2017, she worked as a dramaturg at Theater Konstanz. Her main focus of interest lies somewhere in the no-mans-land between local and international research projects. Her projects have repeatedly taken her to countries like Burundi and Malawi. She is a co-founder of the theatre collective What You See Is What You Get, which mainly works in techno clubs. Her production “Die Brunft” toured internationally (at festivals in Vienna, Slubice and Johannesburg, among others). Since 2008, she has been a permanent member of O-Team. This independent theatre group develops exceptional scenic states that challenge their audience to question their own positions. For instance, a sex robot may encounter an actor, the team may camp out at the venue for weeks on end or a junk yard may turn into an open-air spectacle.
