Stefan Oppenländer studied interior design at the University of Applied Sciences in Detmold. For his dissertation, he designed the stage set for Michel Vinaver’s work “Nina, That’s Something Else” at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art in Berlin. Following this, he studied semiotics at the Technical University Berlin with a focus on theatrical and architectural semiotics. He has worked as a stage and costume designer at such venues as the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Grenier Neuf Dijon, Staatstheater Kassel, Staatstheater Saarbrücken, Landestheater Neuss, Schlosstheater Moers and at the Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen. In 2009, he realized stage sets in Adeline Rosenstein’s production of Bertolt Brecht’s “Fatzer” at the Premiers Actes festival in Wesserling in the Alsace region.
