The pianist Heike Clara Gneiting was born in 1973 in Heilbronn. She commenced her studies at the University of the Arts Berlin and subsequently in Trossingen and Rostock. Alongside the classical romantic chamber music and Lied repertoire, a major focus of her study was contemporary music. She lives in Berlin. In 1998, together with percussionist Jan Schlichte and double bass player Martin Heinze – both members of the Berliner Philharmoniker – she founded KlangArt Berlin. The ensemble is dedicated to performing contemporary music in a variety of instrumentations. As a chamber musician she has performed throughout Germany and abroad. She is often invited to perform at festivals and in CD productions. In addition, she regularly features as an orchestral pianist in concerts and recordings with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
