Marietheres Jesse is a freelance theatre maker, performer and theatre educator in Berlin. In 2015 she co-founded the queerfeminist group CHICKS* freies performancekollektiv, in which she develops performative theatre projects with artists and experts, feminist theatre workshops and concepts of performative sexual education as one of the artistic directors.
Most recently, they developed the performative vampire musical “LESBIAN VAMPIRE FANTASY” (premiere at LOFFT – DAS THEATER, Leipzig), which sings about intergenerational queer history(s) and presences. Previously, they explored couple dance in times of patriarchy and tested dance as a tool of resistance in the interactive theatre format “DEEP DANCING” (SOPHIENSÆLE, Berlin; imagetanz festival at brut, Vienna; Freischwimmen meets Rodeo Festival, Munich).
Marietheres Jesse studied Cultural Studies and Aesthetic Practice at the University of Hildesheim with a major in Theatre and is a certified trainer for Social Justice and Diversity.
