Tomasz Szczepanek is a theatre director, author and performer. He was born in Ostrołęka, Poland in1988. He is a Master of Fine Arts and graduated from the Theatre Directing Department at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theatre Academy in Warsaw (2014). Currently he is a PhD candidate at the Department of Aesthetics at the Institute of Philosophy, University of Warsaw. His main fields of interest are: art of failure, strategies of self-identification and the relationship between aesthetics and global capitalism. He co-created Warsaw queer scene as a drag performer, Enola Gay. One of the tools he uses in his research is contemporary astrology based on Jungian archetypical psychology. Currently he has been working on the documentary project “Can I be Whitney?”, which will premiere during the Stage Songs Review in Wrocław arch this year. He lives in Warsaw.
