Eylien König, born 1984 in Trondheim, is a stage designer. She studied Fine Arts and Stage Design at HFBK Hamburg and the University of the Arts in London. In 2012, she received the Graduate’s Award of the Karl H. Ditze Foundation. Until 2017, she was employed by Wilfried Minks as an assistant and artistic associate. During the same time, she created her own stage designs for the Vienna Burgtheater, Staatstheater Mainz, in Heidelberg and Lübeck as well as at Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin and Thalia Theater in Hamburg. As a regular collaborator with Kommando Himmelfahrt, she has realised stage designs and installations at Kampnagel in Hamburg and Nationaltheater Mannheim.

With the long-term project “<enframing home>”, she was a contributor to the Biennial Regard Bénin, the 11th Sharjah Biennial in 2012/13 and to the 5th Marrakesh Biennial in 2014. These experiences resulted in the foundation of the interdisciplinary artist collective POOL. In 2017, the collective realised “XO’DO-ALLÔKAN-NÙ” in Hamburg, a live radio-play between Benin and Germany about storytelling as a critical artistic practise.
