Jorge Puerta

Venezuelan-born lyric tenor Jorge Puerta studied at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid. His repertoire includes roles such as Rodolfo ("La Bohème”), Radames (“Aida”), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Alfredo (“La Traviata”), Calaf (“Turandot”Madama Butterfly”), Edgardo (“Lucia di Lammermoor”) and Don Carlo (“Don Carlo”). Jorge Puerta has given concerts in concert halls such as the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Maison de la Radio France in Paris, the Palace of Versailles, Notre Dame Cathedral, Milan Cathedral and the Gulbenkian Theatre in Lisbon, among others. Special mention should be made of his artistic residency at Milan’s Teatro alla Scala in 2015, and in 2020 he won the Rotary Special International Prize at the Ravello International Lyric Singing Competition. From the 2022/23 season, Jore Puerta will be an ensemble member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
