Oliver Boyd

Oliver Boyd is a singer and multi-instrumentalist. He graduated from Queensland Conservatorium with vocal coach Gregory Massingham and is currently studying for his Master of Voice at Hanns Eisler Hochschule in Berlin with Christine Schäfer. In September 2018, Oliver Boyd sang the lead role of Reverend Calloway in Paul Dean's opera “Dry River Run”. During his time at the Conservatory, he performed in Bruce Beresford’s production of Benjamin Britten’s “Albert Herring”, as well as roles including Herisson in “L’Etoile”, Simeon in “L’Enfant Prodigue”, and L’horloge comtoise in “L’Enfant et les Sortilèges”. He made his debut with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in 2017, singing the role of Dancairo in a “Carmen in Concert” series. As a soloist, he has appeared in Handel’s “Messiah”, Mahler’s “Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen”, Mozart’s Requiem, Vespers and Missa Brevis, and Schubert’s Mass in G Major with ensembles throughout Australia. Oliver Boyd has won numerous prizes, including First Prize and Audience Award at the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Aria Competition, Champion of Champions at the Queensland Eisteddfod, the Doreen Ord and Lyceum Club Young Artist Prize, the Joyce Campbell Lloyd Scholarship, and the Patricia Fagan Aria Prize.
