Peter Jakober

Peter Jakober was born in 1977 and grew up in Southern Styria (Austria). From 1998 to 2006 he studied composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz under Georg Friedrich Haas and Gerd Kühr.

His works have been interpreted by ensemble recherche, Aleph Guitar Quartet, Klangforum Wien, Thürmchen Ensemble (Cologne), Ensemble für Neue Musik (Graz), Grazer Orgelpfeifenorchester and musicians from other ensembles in Graz and Vienna. His works have been performed at ZKM Karlsruhe, Kunstverein Köln, Klangspuren in Schwaz, Avantgarde Festival in Schiphorst, the Sakra! festival, ARS NOVA by SWR Germany, Paul Hofhaimer Tage, musikprotokoll im steirischen herbst, Wittener Tagen für neue Kammermusik, Wien Modern, and others. Jakober is co-founder of the annual Hörfest event, which has been taking place since 2003 and offers young composers in particular a platform for performances. Jakober currently lives and works in Vienna.
