Marlena Käthe
Marlena Käthe's sound aesthetic is composed of folkloric, mystical melodies, lyrics as well as danceable rhythms and subby basses. She classifies her music in the genre of dark folk.
At the Treffen junger Autor*innen, the former participant of the Treffen Junge Musik-Szene plays in an acoustic duo with drummer Leo Weber. Since the release of the FLINTA* only debut EP AGED in spring 2021, performances at radio stations such as radioeins, Deutschlandfunk Kultur and Radio Fritz as well as at festivals such as the c/o pop xoxo Cologne, Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs and the Fusion followed. Her latest release was a single with Swiss artist To Athena, which was well received and even played on US radio (Amazing Radio USA) as a German language song. In the fall of 2021, she toured ten German cities with LOTA. Her second EP will be released in spring 2023.
