Maude Bovey

Maude Bovey was born in 1995 and grew up in Fribourg, Switzerland. She completed a bachelor’s degree in architecture at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 2018, during which she spent a year studying at the RWTH Aachen University (Germany). She shifted her focus to the performing arts, taking on various roles at theatres including at Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne and the festival Belluard Bollwerk International in Fribourg in the fields of scenography, production, and artist hospitality. In September 2023, she completed a master’s degree in scenography at the Manufacture Haute école des arts de la scène in Lausanne. Alongside her studies, Maude Bovey collaborated with various artists on interdisciplinary projects combining theatre, dance, performance and music. 

As a scenographer, she enjoys developing a conceptualisation of bodies in space and envisioning spaces that come to life through the bodies that inhabit them. Her artistic approach is evident in the creation of sensory spaces where textures and materials play a crucial role, and where bodies interact with the environment she designs, guiding the audience through a spatial narrative where elements resonate, creating immersive experiences that engage all the senses of the audience.
