Anna Mazurek, born 1996 in Krakow, is a writer, director and playwright and creates prose and texts for theatre. She graduated from the Theatre Directing Department of the Stanislaw Wyspiański Academy of Theatre Arts in Krakow. She made her literary debut in 2019 with the novel “Slut (Korporacja Ha!art)” and her next book “Small Game” will be published in April. Her plays have been performed at the Teatr Soho in Warsaw, the Kazimierz Dejmek New Theatre in Lodz, the Hieronim Konieczka Polish Theatre in Bydgoszcz and the Contemporary Theatre in Szczecin. In theatre and prose, she is interested in strategies for working with documentary or biographical material. She is looking for ways of artistically transforming or telling stories about the influence of cultural politics on what is visible or not visible in mainstream culture.
