Kristina Berger is a dancer, teacher and movement specialist. A principal dancer with the Erick Hawkins Dance Company and a soloist of original Lester Horton works under Artistic Director Don Martin, Berger has also danced with Molissa Fenley & Company, Joyce Trisler Danscompany and the Washington Opera Ballet. She is a founding member of the SWATT collective in Paris, Zurich, and Taipei, the Lake Tahoe Dance Collective, the Dance Series at The Ballery in Berlin and is co-creator of Glitter in the Gutter. Berger developed a rich history demonstrating for master teacher Milton Myers as a scholarship student at Jacob’s Pillow in Massachusetts and travelled the globe with Myers. As part of the festival in Pillow, she performed with the Erick Hawkins Dance Company, the BALAM (Balinese American) Dance Theatre and worked for the Jacob’s Pillow Archive. She has served as Hawkins’ repetiteur at George Washington University and the Lake Tahoe Dance Festival. Berger has been on faculty at Marymount Manhattan College, Steps on Broadway, Joffrey School of Ballet, Peridance Capezio Center, Ballet Arts at City Center and a guest artist with Taipei National University of the Arts, Tecniche di Danza Moderna in Rome, Italy, Boston Arts Academy, Harvard-Radcliffe Modern Dance Co., among others. Recently, Berger presented her own work at Strandverket, Konstkapelle, and Marstrands Skola in Marstrand, Sweden as well as The Ballery and PAS (Petersburg Art Space) in Berlin.
