Riham Isaac
Regisseurin, Performerin, Lehrerin
Director/performer/teacher – Bethlehem, Palestine
Participant International Forum 2019
Riham Isaac is a multidisciplinary artist and performance director who brings together a range of practices – acting, singing, dancing and visual arts. As a practitioner, she utilises an intuitive process to create work by engaging in authentic play. No acting, but a sense of presence and emptiness where the body is the receptor of actions that happen through it. Flowers and mirrors are recurring objects in her work, as both connect her to fragility, vulnerability, dreams and fragmentations.
Her recent work “I Am You” is a multidisciplinary performance that questions identity, vulnerability and social masks. As an artist from Palestine, her connection to the human existence is unique, as she lives in one of the most controversial places in the world. Nevertheless, she sees herself as a citizen of the world and believes in making art that is influential and provocative for everyone. In 2017, she opened the Art Salon in her grandmother’s house to bring together people from different backgrounds to pursue art projects.
