Lars-Ole Walburg

Lars-Ole Walburg was born in Rostock in 1965. Worked as an actor, dramaturg and director at the Free University Berlin’s studio theatre while still a student. In 1992 he co-founded the company Theater Affekt. 1996–98 as dramaturg and director at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, then at the Theater Basel, initially as deputy drama director and head dramaturg, and then as drama director from 2003. Since 2006, Walburg has been a freelance director based in Vienna. He has been invited to the Theatertreffen three times: 1996 with “Elective Affinities” after Goethe (as dramaturg), 1997 “The Triumph of Illusions” by Corneille (as dramaturg) and 2000 “An Enemy of the People” by Ibsen (as director).
