Patty Kim Hamilton writes, directs and performs. Her work exists at the intersection of intimacy and politics. ‘Peeling Oranges’ received the Heidelberger Stückemarkt SWR Prize, the Nancy Dean Lesbian Playwrighting Award, the 2nd Else Lasker Schüler Prize and was a finalist for the Papatango Play Award. ‘Sex Play’ won the Royal Shakespeare Company 37 Plays Award, premiered at Schauspielhaus Graz and had its German premiere at Theater Bielefeld. ‘Schmerz Camp’ premiered at the Bremen Theatre and was published as a book as part of the Suhrkamp Theatre Series. Patty Kim Hamilton studied at Stanford University and the University of the Arts. In the 23/24 season she was the resident playwright at the Deutsches Theater Berlin. She teaches writing workshops online and has taught playwriting for KimchiBrot and at Bard College Berlin.
