Anastasia Kosodii started her career as co-founder of the theatre Zaporizka Nova Drama in her hometown Zaporizhzhia. In the years 2014–2016, the plays “Get me a Сity Сouncil Building“,“Bring me from Lviv what we don’t have in Zaporizhzhia“ and “Who Stole your Horses“ were on the shortlist of the festivals The Week of Modern Plays in Kyiv and Lubimovka Young Russian Playwrights Festival in Moscow. In 2016, Kosodii’s plays “Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine“ and “The Greatest Pain on Earth“ were performed at the theatre Zaporizka Nova Drama.

In 2017, Anastasia worked as creative manager in the project “Theatrical Laboratory: behind the borders of fear”. The main goal of the project was to create a theatrical environment in small Ukrainian towns on the frontline. Also, she worked as a consultant playwright in the charity projects “Class Act“ (Kyiv) and “Modern Theatrical Stages – Platforms of Civic Activity” (Poltava, Bakhmut).

In 2017, Anastasia also became a member of the project “Krieg im Frieden“, organised by Maxim Gorki Theater and Literarisches Colloquium Berlin. The play “Timetraveller’s guide to Donbas”, written during this project, was performed at Studio Я of Maxim Gorki Theater in October 2018.

She was invited to give a lecture at the University of Oxford in November 2017, titled: “Political Theatre in a New Ukraine”. In 2018, she worked as consultant playwright in the charity project “Tell me your story” with teenagers from the Ukrainian town Popasna and from Potsdam, Germany. In 2019, Anastasia Kosodii became a chief playwright in PostPlay Theatre in Kyiv. Also in 2019, her play “Timetraveller’s guide to Donbas” was performed at the Lesi Ukrainki Theatre in Lviv (Ukraine).
