Natalia Mariño works as a director, costume designer and professor. She studied Dramatic Arts and Anthropology at the University of Costa Rica. She is currently studying the Arts Academic Master degree with emphasis in Performing Arts at the same university. She is the founder of delCarmen Teatro (2012), an independent theatre company, for which she has served as general and artistic director on several projects. Her work focuses on socio-political and gender topics, mostly developing the dramaturgy out of the the scene through simultaneous dialogue with the cast, combined with the rest of the play's elements. National Coordinator of Costa Rica in the International Biennial of Female Dramaturgy “La Escritura de la/s diferencia/s” at Havana, Cuba. She was awarded the National Culture Award Ricardo Fernández Guardia 2015 in the category “Best Theater Director” for her work on “Viola” (1234). She has presented her work in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Peru, Guatemala, Mexico, Spain and Cuba.
