Jeremy Woodruff

Jeremy Woodruff, Ph.D., is Head of Music Theory and Lecturer in Composition at the Istanbul Technical University, Center for Advanced Studies in Music (MIAM). He is also Co-founder of the Neue Musikschule Berlin, where he teaches composition and music theory. Jeremy Woodruff has given guest lectures and seminars on sound in politics, Indian music, at the University of the Arts (UdK) Berlin, Goldsmiths University, London, Aarhus University, Denmark, Carnegie Mellon University, USA and others. At the KM Music Conservatory in Chennai he was Lecturer in Composition as well as Academic Head of the Part Time and Preparatory Department from 2014-2016. He is currently the Chief Program Designer for Music for Teaching for Artistic Innovation (TFAI) in Bangalore, India. His concert works have been commissioned by the Deutsche Kammerorchester Berlin, Ensemble KNM Berlin, Time's Arrow, Ensemble Decibel and many other new music ensembles in the UK, Germany and the USA. His compositions have premiered at the South Bank in London, at the Philharmonie in Berlin, at the Max Mueller Bhavan in Chennai, India and other venues. Several CDs are released on the Noise Museum label (www.noisemuseum.com) among others. Jeremy Woodruff's sound art works have been mounted at the KW in Berlin, AD Gallery in Bremen, at the Humboldt University in Berlin, at Copenhagen University and most recently at Errant Sound as part of Berlin Art Week. His scores are published by Neue Musik Verlag, Berlin. His writings have been published by Klangzeitort (Berlin), “Interference: A Journal of Audio Culture”, “Journal of Sonic Studies”, “Kunst”.
