Eneas Nikolai Prawdzic, born in 1989, is co-director of the collective Proberaum Zukunft and has been in-house dramaturg at Theater Neumarkt in Zurich since the 2019/20 season. Before turning to theatre, he was involved in the field of politics and worked as a media spokesperson and campaign manager. His political background shaped his understanding of theatre as a space for reflection and possibility in which – against the disillusioning present – desirable futures can be tested. He studied Sociology at the University of Zurich and at the University of Freiburg as well as Dramaturgy at the Zurich University of the Arts.
Formative theatre works for Prawdzic included “Gletscher-Requiem. Ein Abschiednehmen in Schichten” directed by Franz-Xaver Mayr, where he was responsible for the text and dramaturgy, the novel adaptation “Park” directed by Julia Skof, the dance piece “Le Sacre du Printemps” choreographed by Michiel Vandevelde or the film adaptation “Mononoke” directed by Felix Rothenhäusler. Important for his understanding of theatre were projects such as the scenic congress “The Secret Club of Radical Transparency” with hackers from all over the world, the pre-enactment “Die Aarau AG” with the collective Proberaum Zukunft or the digital archive of the future “100 Ways to Say We”, which was created in 2021 in collaboration with Florian Malzacher and the Goethe-Institut as part of the Venice Biennale of Architecture.
