Rahmatallah Ramzi, born in Sri Lanka in 2001, first appeared on stage at the age of six. There she performed in classical theatre plays, including Shakespeare’s Hamlet, as well as in theatre musicals, with which she took part in competitions. These early experiences shaped her passion for theatre and it became a new artistic home for her.
In 2017, she came to Germany and joined the Cactus Junges Theater in Münster. There she took part in four productions, including TISCHmanieren at the Festival of Democracy and Hoping For... directed by Judith Suermann. Hoping For..., a play developed by the ensemble, dealt with the topic of peace and was invited to the 2024 Theatertreffen der Jugend.
She has been studying sign language interpreting in Magdeburg since October 2023. Her goal is to make theatre with deaf people in the future in order to make new perspectives visible on stage.
