Niloufar Mohseni was born in 1992 in Iran. At the age of eight, she started playing the traditional Persian drum Tombak and learned from masters and teachers such as Mohamad Reza Shadmani, Saeid Jalalian and Bahman Rajabi. In 2015, she won the prize of the 9th National Festival of Youth Music in Iran. Mohseni has a record of successful concerts and recordings with eminent musicians. She is a regular guest at international festivals, including the Tansen Samaroh in India, the Førde Traditional and World Music Festival in Norway, the Festival des 5 Continents in Switzerland and the Hide & Seek Festival in Belgium. She participated in concerts and workshops at the Geneva Conservatory of Music. In the recording studio, Niloufar Mohseni Tombak has performed on albums such as “Why Now?” by Naser Masoudi and Majid Derakhshani, “Sun” by Majid Derakhshani, “The Beautiful” by Farzan Pouraref and “Soza Me” by Amin Pouraref.

Niloufar Mohseni holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology.
