Dr Ulrike Guérot is Senior Fellow at the Open Society Initiative for Europe (OSIFE), director of the European Democracy Lab and writes articles, essays and analyses on topics of European integration and on Europe’s role in the world. She has developed European research units and think-tanks in France and Germany and has taught and conducted research at universities in Europe and the US. For many years, Ulrike Guérot has worked as a consultant on European policy for political decision makers, with a focus on the advancement of European institutions and a joint presence of Europe in the world. The point of departure for her work as a writer and intellectual has always been the relationship between Germany and France as a centrepiece of European integration. Thus, she is a regular participant of the Munich Security Conference, the Ditchlev Conferences, the German-British Königswinter Conference or the Bergedorf Round Table.
