Sam Max

Sam Max is a writer, director, musician and designer living in Brooklyn. Sam is a resident playwright of New Dramatists and was included on the Young & Hungry list, tracking “Hollywood’s Top 100 New Writers”. Sam’s play “PIDOR and the Wolf” won the Robert Chesley/Victor Bumbalo Playwriting Award, was a finalist for the National Playwrights Conference at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center and received an Honorable Mention for the Relentless Award. Their play „Twin Size Beds” was selected for the Under the Radar Festival. Sam has received residencies and grants from National Sawdust, The Mastheads, Cutting Ball Theater, Hermitage Artist Retreat and the Foundation for Contemporary Arts. Their work is represented by Suhrkamp Theater Verlag in the German-speaking regions, and Sam is currently working on their debut feature film.
