Daniela Löffner

Daniela Löffner was born in Freiburg in 1980. She started out as an assistant director at Theater Freiburg and moved on to Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus in the same function assisting directors like Jürgen Gosch and Volker Lösch. In Dusseldorf, she created her first own productions, among them “Die Wildente oder Demian” (The Wild Duck or Demian), which gained a nomination for the 2011 theatre award Der Faust. Her work next took her to Residenztheater München and Schauspielhaus Zürich, among others. There she directed the world premiere of Anne Nather’s play “Im Wald ist man nicht verabredet”, which was invited to the 2010 Berlin Autorentheatertage. Her production of “Kinder der Sonne” (Children of the Sun) at Schauspielhaus Zürich was invited to the festival Radikal jung. From 2010 to 2014, she was resident director at Staatstheater Braunschweig. “Children of the Sun” and “Der Sturm” (The Tempest), a production of Staatstheater Braunschweig, were awarded with the Kurt-Hübner-Regiepreis. “Väter und Söhne” (Fathers and Sons) is her fifth production at Deutsches Theater Berlin. It is her work to be invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen.

As of April 2016
