Benjamin Eggers-Domsky was born in 1984 in Berlin and worked as an assistant director at, amongst other theatres, Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, Sophiensæle Berlin and Schauspiel Frankfurt, where he also directed productions and staged readings.
Eggers-Domsky then studied theatre studies and philosophy at Freie Universität Berlin as well as physics at Humboldt University of Berlin. At the same time, he directed productions at Theaterdiscounter Berlin, Sophiensæle Berlin, Pumpenhaus in Münster as well as for the youth club at Schauspiel Frankfurt. He premiered his own texts, in part under the pseudonym Hagen Bolt, in the productions “Im Rausch der Purpurschnecke” and “KOPF KUNST PFLICHT BAAL”.
In addition, he also worked for a time as the artistic director at the club Sisyphos Berlin, where he experimented with theatre forms and presented his own work. Most recently, he created performative audio play “Dream Baby Dream” in collaboration with Anne Inken Bickert, which premiered under restriction imposed by COVID-19 and in connection with the Berlin club scene.
He has worked with Thorsten Lensing since 2003. Beginning as an intern and assistant director, he has accompanied nearly all of Lensing’s productions since then. He also performed as an actor on stage in “Der Kirschgarten” in 2011. He has served as the associate director to Lensing since the production “Unendlicher Spaß” (2018) . “Verrückt nach Trost” (2022) is his eighth collaboration with him.
