Bastian Zimmermann, living in Munich, is a curator, publisher and editor specialising in music and performance. He works freelance in the music and performance field, and is also a dramaturg. He has worked with Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop, theatre director Yael Ronen, director and author Pao-Chang Tsai, with composers Amir Shpilman, Neo Hülcker and Mauro Hertig and the visual artist Aliénor Dauchez, among others. As publisher and editor of the magazine Positionen – Texte zur aktuellen Musik and as author of various text formats, he reflects on interdisciplinary projects. Further, he curates the performance series “Music for Hotel Bars” and the Musik Installationen Nürnberg festival. As a dramaturge, Zimmermann is interested in the social situations of music-making, as a curator in super-specific yet open music concepts and as an editor in the gradual dismantling of the encrusted structures in bourgeois contemporary music-making.
