Payam Yolusefi is a composer with a background in traditional Iranian music. He has extensive training in the Iranian Dastgāh system (the modal scale system in Iranian music). Although this doesn’t inform his compositional style, an exchange of musical ideas that takes place subconsciously seems quite possible to him. Payam is currently a doctoral student at Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University.
