Kekke Schmidt

Kekke Schmidt ws born in Turin, Italy in 1960. Studied German and Romance Languages in Freiburg and Paris. In 1989/90 Assistant Dramaturg at the Thalia Theater, Hamburg (Director Jürgen Flimm), then dramaturg at Theater Basel (Director Frank Baumbauer) until 1993, Schauspiel Hannover (Intendant Ulrich Khuon) from 1993 to 1997 and at the Nationaltheater Mannheim from 1997 to 2000, from 1999 as a member of the directorate (Drama Director Bruno Klimek). Kekke Schmidt has been dramaturg for spoken drama at the Staatstheater Stuttgart since 2000, initially under the artistic directorship of Friedrich Schirmer, and since the 2005/06 season in the team of Hasko Weber.
