Participant International Forum 2024
Soraya Reichl works as a director, theatre educator, performer, and educational consultant in Berlin. Her focus lies in implementing theatrical community projects with an emphasis on the artistic and political empowerment of performers. Furthermore, she places multiperspective storytelling and engagement with complexities and contradictions at the centre, coupled with a continuous reinvention and development of political visions. In doing so, she develops a variety of artistic formats such as performances, productions, readings, workshops, installations, audio walks and interventions, both in stage format and in public spaces.
From 2021 to 2023, Soraya Reichl was a permanent member of the Artistic Mediation and Participation team at Theater an der Parkaue – Junges Staatstheater Berlin. Additionally, in 2021 and 2022, she received production funding for her performative audio walk “REMEMBER NOW! – A Story of Remembering Each Other” in co-production with Sophiensæle, which critically examines Berlin’s memorial sites. In 2023, she received process funding for the performative audio night walk “WHAT THE HEX?!” as part of the Leisure and Pleasure festival at Sophiensæle.
Since 2016, Soraya Reichl has worked as a freelance theatre educator and performer at Maxim Gorki Theater, Ballhaus Naunynstraße, TheaterImpulse e. V., and Ballhaus Ost, among others. She studied Theatre Education at Osnabrück University and will begin the master’s programme DAS Theatre at Amsterdam University of the Arts in September 2024.
