Lutz Hübner was born in 1964, studied German language and literature, philosophy and sociology in Münster as well as drama in Saarbrücken. After working as an actor at various German theatres, Lutz Hübner has been working as a free-lance author and director since 1996. He is one of the most often performed contemporary dramatists and has created a varied and extensive canon of plays. In 1998, he won the German Award for Young People’s Theatre. In 2011, he received ASSITEJ’s dramatists’ award. His plays “Geisterfahrer (Ghost Drivers)” and “Die Firma dankt (The Company thanks)” were selected for the Mülheimer Theatertage and in 2005, his play “Hotel Paraiso” was among the selection for the Theatertreffen. Most of his plays are created in cooperation with Sarah Nemitz.
