Participant International Forum 2023
Hoda Zahedi was born in Tehran, Iran in 1998. She obtained her degree in dramatic literature from the University of Tehran. In 2019, she was introduced to documentary theatre through a workshop, which led to ten days of performances on stage. This experience sparked her interest in the documentary form and prompted her to conduct further research and practice in this field. Her interest in self-representation on stage resulted in series of autobiographical performances.
In 2020, Hoda Zahedi participated in the Dramaturgy Tehran programme, where she gained valuable insights into the different meanings and applications of dramaturgy. The following year, she enrolled in “Dramaturgy Tehran: Beyond Borders”, furthering her expertise in this area. Hoda has worked as a dramaturg in several performances, digital and multimedia events, including “The Pesto Presentation”, “Shelby: Lessons for Life” and a performance based on someone’s dreams.
Hoda Zahedi’s focus has since been on dramaturgy, and she continues to explore different types of performing arts in order to test their interactive potential. Her current aspirations involve working outside of conventional theatre spaces and pushing the boundaries of the space to immerse citizens in performative events during their everyday life.
