Mikko Roiha

Mikko Roiha, born in 1971 in the Finnish town of Vantaa, is a theatre director and columnist. He was awarded the Finnish State Prize for Performing Arts in 2008 for his achievements as a theatre director. From 1993 to 1994 Roiha studied Drama at the University of Tampere and he graduated in 1997 from a subsequent course of studies at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki with a Bachelor of Arts. 2001/2002, Roiha was the director of the city theatre of Seinäjoki in west Finland. In addition, he has worked at the Kuopio city theatre, at the TTT Theater in Tampere and at the dance theatre Minimi in Kuopio, among others. He writes regular columns for the journals ”Teatteri & Tanssi”, “Ilkka”, “Glorian ruoka & viini” and others. Mikko Roiha lives in Berlin.
