Michael Acker

Michael Acker studied physics at the University of Heidelberg and graduated from Hochschule für Musik in Detmold in sound engineering. He has been rewarded with the Award for Young Sound Engineers from the German Association of Sound Engineers (Nachwuchspreis des Verbands der Deutschen Tonmeister). He has made contributions to research in the field of Acoustics and Auditory Physiology and has had university teaching positions in acoustics and mathematics at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold. He was employed as a freelancing sound engineer at the Deutsche Grammophon from 1997/98.

He has been a sound engineer and a sound director at the SWR Experimentalstudio since 1999.
