Jossi Wieler

Jossi Wieler is a multi-award winning theatre and opera director; since 2011, he has also been the chief director of the Stuttgart Opera. He has directed productions in Stuttgart, Basel, Hamburg, Zurich, Berlin, as well as at the Münchner Kammerspiele and Salzburg Festival. In 1994, he directed the world premiere of Tankred Dorst’s “Herr Paul” at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg; in 1997, he took the production to Tokyo and three years later, he developed “Merlin” in Hamburg. He has known Tankred Dorst since 1980.
