Elias Adam, born in 1991 in Greece’s countryside, studied Law and Theatre in Athens. His works have been presented in venues in Greece, Cyprus and Germany. Elias Adam explores an intimate and non-fictional style of making theatre – an attempt to make a complex and incomprehensible (inner) world less painful and, additionally, to build bridges from the personal to the political. The past two years, as a scholar and alumnus of the Robert Bosch Stiftung, he developed an activist project titled “Smallville”, aiming to empower rural places in Greece through public discourses, collective authorship practises and non-fictional or biographical theatre. For his aesthetic, Elias adopts elements from the Camp-style, challenging the dominant culture either by appropriating or ridiculing it. More often than not, he propagandises his teen music obsessions. Currently going through an autobiographical phase, Elias is developing his new play on Édouard Louis’ “The End of Eddy”, which will premiere in May at the Experimental Stage of the National Theatre of Greece.
