Noah Voelker is from Austin, Texas and is now based in Amsterdam. He graduated from Trinity University (San Antonio, Texas) in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Theatre and Economics. From 2013–2015 he was a director of The Aesthetic of Waste. Their weekly performance art show “We Stole This” won best original theatre at the 2013 Houston Fringe Festival. In 2017 he obtained his Masters in Theatre from DAS Theatre in Amsterdam. His performance work and research are on practices of dialogue, storytelling, authenticity and audience collaboration. His solo performance “Cursed on a Thursday” (2017) used the format of the motivational speaker seminar to invite the audience to participate in a 6-step course in conquering their anxiety. His forthcoming performance “Who Wants to Meet a Real Goddamn American?” will explore the intersection between nation and identity as well as the American Dream as seen from Europe. He currently works as theatre maker, dramaturge, performer, and technical advisor.
