Christian Kesten

Christian Kesten is a composer, vocalist and performer. He has been commissioned by international ensembles and realised full-length works in venues such as Radialsystem, Schauspielhaus Wuppertal, Théâtre 2.21 Lausanne and at festivals in Beijing, Copenhagen, New York and Los Angeles, among others. He has shown his solo performances for voice, body, objects, video in Europe, North and South America, Japan and China. Kesten is a member of the experimental vocal and music performance ensemble Maulwerker and organises the annual maulwerker performing music series at Ballhaus Ost. He co-curates the series Labor Sonor for experimental music, film and performance and is artistic co-director of the transdisciplinary Labor Sonor festivals.
