Aaron Holloway-Nahum (b. 1983) is a composer, conductor and recording engineer. Characterized by experimental narrative structures, a growing interest in live multi-media, detailed, ornate timbres and bold melodic unisons, Holloway-Nahum’s music has been performed in nearly 20 countries. He was one of two composers on the 2018/19 Peter Eötvös Foundation inaugural mentoring programme and his commissions include the BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Plural Ensemble, Pannon Philharmonic, HOCKET, the London Sinfonietta, Third Coast Percussion, Ensemble Chartreuse, Duo Harperc and the Atéa Quintet.
Holloway-Nahum’s career combines this compositional knowledge with a variety of additional skills: As a conductor and arts entrepreneur, he most prominently serves as the conductor, Chief Executive and co-Artistic Director of Riot Ensemble, an organization that gives more than 30 performances per year and has premiered over 350 original works. A growing interest in spatial audio – alongside his experience as a recording engineer and managing director of Coviello Music Productions – led Holloway-Nahum into a role as the Head of Soundscape with Southby Productions. Holloway-Nahum is on the composition faculty of the Royal Academy of Music. He lives in London with his wife and three sons.
