Born in Milan, the author Davide Carnevali lives and works in Berlin and Barcelona, where he graduated from the Universitat Autònoma with a postgraduate degree in Theatre Studies. Carnevali is also a theoretician, critic, publisher and translator. From the 2013/2014 season, he will be a member of the dramaturgical team at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya. He was the award-winner of the 2009 Stückemarkt for his play “Variationen über das Kraepelin-Modell” (Variations on the Kraepelin Model), received the Premio Riccione per il Teatro in Italy and the Journées de Lyon des Auteurs de Théâtre in 2012. For his piece “Wie es kam, dass in Italien die Revolution ausbrach, ohne dass es jemand bemerkte” (literally: How it happened that a revolution broke out in Italy and no one noticed), he won the Scintille Prize at the Asti Teatro Festival in 2012 and the Borrello Prize in 2011. His last play, “Sweet Home Europa”, was produced as a radio play by Deutschlandradio Kultur and shown at the Bochum Schauspielhaus. His scripts have been translated into German, Spanish, Catalan, French, English and Estonian, and have been performed in various countries.
