Anastasia Frantzeskaki holds a PhD in Political Sociology and has been working for Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) for 32 years. For the last 30 years, she has continuously been re-elected as member of the board of her trade union representing the white-collar workers in the PPA as well as member of the board of the Federation of the workers in the Greek Ports. Since 2001, they fight against privatisation of the port on the regional and national level and under the umbrella of International Dockworkers Council (IDC) against the deregulation of labour relations in European ports. She is also active in civil society on the local level, focusing on environment, democracy, solidarity networks and refugees.
