PHØNIX16

PHØNIX16 is a paradox: it is a collective of individuals who explore the phenomenon of the voice as a primary instrument, but also as the basis for social, political and cultural forms of expression and as a means of communication. PHØNIX16 makes use of many different research sources and realises its performances in a variety of formats, including experimental films, installations and happenings. The collective is not afraid of incorporating influences that range from folk to electronic and contemporary music to death metal. In this way, our accustomed manner of listening is constantly challenged and broadened. The ensemble of soloists was founded in Berlin in 2012 in Berlin.
