Spanish choreographer and dancer Rocío Molina is the great moderniser of flamenco, which she has mastered ever since her childhood. She combines technical virtuosity with an unbridled experimentalism. Her piece Caída del cielo is the journey of a woman searching for her roots, whose dance emanates from her womb and from the earth that she traverses with dynamic, thunderous heels. The piece combines untamed, virtuosic flamenco with a rock concert and performance art. Rocío Molina employs sensual imagery, tremendous energy, rousing rhythms and considerable clarity to take the audience on this epic journey.

The dancer and choreographer Rocío Molina developed her own artistic idiom based on a radical reinvention of traditional flamenco. In her work, she combines technical virtuosity with contemporary research and conceptual daring. Molina was born in Malaga in 1984 and started dancing at the age of three. At the age of seven she created her first choreographic work. She completed her training at the Royal Dance Conservatory in Madrid, and has been an associate artist at the Théâtre National de Chaillot, Paris, since 2015.
