30-11 Public discussion following the performance

Name day, butter week, the doctor’s bouts of drinking, the departure of the military, tea, cake, patience, winter, spring, summer, autumn … immersed in everyday cares and dreams of Moscow, life gradually and irrevocably passes by. The three young women (Xenia Kutyopova, Polina Kutyopova, Galina Tyunina) want to live well and be happy, but they discover that life and happiness are far from being one and the same thing.
Pyotr Fomenko, the great master of Russian theatre, has reinterpreted this famous story. The text sounds like it did when it first appeared over a hundred years ago – completely new.

Pyotr Fomenko died on 9 August 2012 in Moscow.
