The Lisa Bassenge Trio knows how to strike the very light notes to be enjoyed in a spring night. Their songs combine a faint longing and laid-back cheerfulness with underlying melancholy tones.

“Three” aptly continues along the lines of well-beloved concepts, while also extending its successful “flirt with pop music”. The interplay of vocals, piano and bass transforms popular melodies, jazz standards and children’s songs into highly individual versions by dipping them into new colourful timbres. The trio’s own compositions and lyrics unfold a special kind of poetry, in what could almost be called ‘song-poems’, musically supported by the accompanying instruments.
