A group of players gathers at a previously arranged location. Each one of them takes on the role of the young FAUST. Equipped with a smart phone and a will to challenge life head-on, they encounter the enticing virtual range of MEPHISTO&co, which offers values and ideals for sale. By “logging in”, the bargain between FAUST and MEPHISTO&co is sealed and the seductive game begins.
Intertwining the digital with the analog world turns “Faust” into a hybrid, interactive gaming experience that encourages participants to explore their personal values and defend them against purely commercial interests – and of course invites them to rediscover the original play.
“Being Faust – Enter Mephisto” is a production of the Goethe-Institut Korea in cooperation with Nolgong and the dramaturge Benjamin von Blomberg.
