3sat-Award

Since 1997, 3sat has bestowed the To the 3sat-Award archive for an artistically innovative achievement to one or more artists from the circle of the invited ensembles. In 2022, director Claudia Bauer will be distinguished for her production of “humanistää!”. The jury reasons:

“‘humanistää!‘ is a scenic round-dance of mini-dramas and grand entrances. By taking an eclectic approach, director Claudia Bauer manages to awaken Ernst Jandl’s idiom for the stage and to show how multifaceted and eminently suited to the stage it is. Jandl used repetitions and shifts of meaning to come to grips with reality. The staging also applies repetition and the ensuing disruptions of perception. “humanistää!” is a celebration of Jandl, a cheerful struggle for form and a great theatrical lark.“

The 2022 jury consists of Yvonne Büdenhölzer (director of the Theatertreffen), Petra Paterno (theatre critic and member of the Theatertreffen-jury) and Wolfgang Horn (member of the music and theatre editorial staff of ZDF). The 3sat-award comes with a prize money of 10,000 Euros.
