On his current tour, Danger Dan uses actual experiences as the basis for universally valid excursions, clever zeitgeist diagnostics and kitsch-free love songs.

Looking back to the beginning of 2021: Danger Dan announces a small, unexpected piano album. He has not practiced the piano for years and neither he nor anyone else anticipated the explosion that follows: all the records are immediately gone, the tours immediately sold out, there are features in every newspaper and every radio station is playing the songs. In 2022 and 2023 it is finally time for Danger Dan to put “Das ist alles von der Kunstfreiheit gedeckt” on the stages that have been gathering dust during the pandemic. We look forward to music that defies the zeitgeist in drawing on a tradition of Lieder making that was believed dead, transporting this into the present with polarising lyrics, political calls to arms and unembarrassed love songs. And we look forward to a pianist who doesn’t own a piano and can’t read music but who is able to demonstrate with great charm how to make a virtue of a necessity: it’s all covered by artistic licence!
