Andreas Wolfsteiner

Andreas Wolfsteiner is currently visiting professor for “Diversity of Knowledge” at the Hermann von Helmholtz Center for Cultural Techniques at the Humboldt University of Berlin. In 2008, he completed his doctoral thesis with the graduate program “Körper-Inszenierungen” (body productions). The study dealt with the history and theory of interfaces (“The Formatted Body”, 2011). A postdoctoral position at the International Research Training Group “InterArt” followed and he subsequently officiated as a research associate at the Institute for Theater, Media and Popular Culture at the University of Hildesheim. His second thesis (habilitation) is entitled “Visibility Machines. Handling scenarios” (Kadmos, forthcoming). In spring 2016 he was a short term fellow at the GHI Washington, DC with a project on “Cold War Gaming”. Between April 2016 and March 2017 he was guest professor at the Institute of Theater Studies of the Freie Universität Berlin, formerly Helmar Schramm’s chair. Additionally he works as a freelance dramaturge and curator for audio, video and performance projects.
